Ferrari F40 – Fastest Sports Car Ever

Ferrari F40

Debuting as Ferrari’s quickest (zero to 60 mph in 3.eight seconds) and most costly (the sticker price was $400,000, but customers reportedly compensated approximately $1.six million) vehicle in 1987, the F40 had a 2-year reign as the world’s quickest creation vehicle, clocking in at a best speed of 195 mph.

Created to coincide with Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, the F40 was the last car released just before company founder Enzo Ferrari’s death. It had been about the cutting edge of aerodynamics engineering at the time, relying much more on form than power to make speed. Because it was so lower for the ground, Ferrari engineers enabled it to automatically increase its ground clearance when necessary. The initial designs had been race-car light: a plastic windshield and no carpet, doorway handles or sound technique.
